Insurance & Payment

Fair, Fixed Rate

At Excel Dental, we are primarily an out-of-network or “fee-for-service” dental-care provider. This allows us to charge a fair, fixed rate for procedures rather than having to apply extra fees required by third-party insurance companies.

Whatever your situation and budget, we are dedicated to providing you with straightforward estimates and helping you navigate any financial obstacles you may be facing.

We accept most dental insurance

However, we also accept most dental (PPO) insurance. If you have any concerns, you are always welcome into our dental office, and we can check your benefits for you!

Common Questions

What should I expect during my first visit?

First visits usually consist of building your personalized patient account. We want to learn about you, your needs, your expectations, and your dental goals. Low radiation digital imaging x-rays, 3D scans (Itero), and intra-oral photos are often performed to allow us to help create a customized treatment plan that best fits your dental needs.

For first-time patients, it is best to arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out patient forms. You can also print out the form HERE and bring the completed form to your appointment. We can’t wait to see you

Do you see children at your dental office?

Yes! We are a family-focused dental office. We recommend that children as early as 6 months visit our office so we can take a look at your child’s teeth and work on providing them a positive experience. These 30-minute appointments will help desensitize them to the dental office and introduce them to the importance of dental care at an early age.

Do you offer emergency appointments?
Whether you are a current patient of ours or you have never been to our office before, you can make same-day appointments to get reliable, high-quality emergency dental care. We understand that unexpected things may happen in life, and sometimes they are stressful and intimidating. We will be here for you to help with your dental needs.
Can you help with dental anxiety?
Absolutely! We are here to help improve your dental care. We know that going to the dentist may be intimidating, and we want to make sure that you take on this journey together with us. Our staff members are understanding, compassionate, and thoughtful. We are dedicated to prioritizing YOUR dental experience. We also offer soothing amenities including essential oils, blankets, neck pillows and more to provide a relaxing and comfortable environment.
What is the 22 hour rule for Invisalign?

The 22-hour rule for Invisalign is a crucial guideline designed to maximize the effectiveness of your treatment. Invisalign aligners are a popular choice for those seeking a discreet and comfortable way to straighten their teeth, and adhering to the 22-hour rule is essential for achieving the best results. This rule simply means that you should wear your Invisalign aligners for at least 22 hours a day. The aligners work by exerting gentle pressure on your teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position. To maintain this consistent pressure, it’s important to wear them as much as possible.

You can remove your aligners for eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing, and flossing. However, it’s crucial to put them back in as soon as you’re done. The more you wear your aligners, the more effective they will be. If you frequently remove them or forget to put them back in, you may delay your treatment or not achieve the desired results. So, while it might be tempting to leave them out for longer periods, remember that sticking to the 22-hour rule is key to a successful Invisalign journey.

Do clear aligners really work?

Yes, clear aligners, such as Invisalign, really do work and have become a popular alternative to traditional braces. They are designed to address a variety of dental issues, including overcrowding, gaps, and some bite problems. Clear aligners are custom-made for each patient, ensuring a snug fit and effective treatment. They work by applying consistent, gentle pressure to your teeth, gradually shifting them into the desired position over time.

One of the main advantages of clear aligners is their discreet appearance. Made from transparent plastic, they are nearly invisible when worn, making them an attractive option for adults and teens who prefer a less noticeable orthodontic treatment. Additionally, clear aligners are removable, allowing for easy cleaning and the freedom to eat whatever you like without the restrictions often associated with traditional braces.

Numerous studies and countless satisfied patients attest to the effectiveness of clear aligners. However, it’s important to note that their success largely depends on patient compliance. Following your dentist’s instructions, wearing the aligners as directed, and attending regular check-ups are all crucial components of a successful treatment outcome.

How long will you wear retainers?

After completing your orthodontic treatment with clear aligners or braces, wearing retainers is a critical step in maintaining your new smile. The duration for which you will need to wear retainers varies depending on individual circumstances, but generally, they are worn for an extended period to ensure your teeth remain in their new position.

Initially, your dentist may recommend wearing your retainers full-time for a few months, typically around 12 to 22 hours a day, similar to your aligner routine. This period allows your teeth to stabilize in their new position as the bone and surrounding tissues adjust. After this initial phase, you will likely transition to wearing your retainers only at night.

The night-time retainer phase can last indefinitely, as teeth have a natural tendency to shift over time. Many orthodontists advise wearing retainers at night for several years, if not for life, to maintain the results of your treatment. Consistency is key, and while it might seem like a long-term commitment, wearing your retainers as directed is a small price to pay for preserving your beautiful, straight smile.

Will my teeth shift with a night guard?

A night guard is a dental appliance designed to protect your teeth from the effects of grinding or clenching, a condition known as bruxism. It’s a common concern whether wearing a night guard will cause your teeth to shift. The short answer is that a properly fitted night guard should not cause your teeth to shift.

Night guards are custom-made to fit your teeth comfortably and snugly, providing a cushion between your upper and lower teeth. This cushion helps prevent the wear and tear that can occur from grinding, preserving your tooth enamel and overall dental health. Unlike orthodontic appliances like braces or aligners, night guards are not designed to move your teeth.

However, if a night guard is ill-fitting or worn improperly, there is a potential for it to cause slight shifting over time. That’s why it’s important to have your night guard custom-made by a dental professional, ensuring it fits perfectly and functions as intended. Regular check-ups with your dentist can also ensure that your night guard remains in good condition and continues to fit well, providing the protection you need without affecting the alignment of your teeth.

What Our Patients Say

I had a fantastic experience at Excel Dental, where I received a custom mouth guard and Vivera retainers. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the brand-new, beautifully designed facility--it's modern, stylish, and thoughtfully laid out to make patients feel at ease. The level of care and attention to detail throughout my visit was exceptional. The team was welcoming and highly professional. One of the standout features of the office was the flat-screen TVs mounted on the ceilings above each patient chair making appointments more enjoyable. After my appointment, I was guided to a "goodies room" stocked with a variety of CocoFloss flavors and other litto gifts--an unexpected and delightful touch that made the visit even more memorable. The entire space exudes a bright and cheerful energy, and it's clear that patient comfort is a top priority. I left feeling confident that my dental care was in excellent hands. If you're looking for a practice that combines top-tier dental expertise with a welcoming and thoughtfully designed environment, I highly recommend Excel Dental.

What Our Patients Say

I am a new patient and the entire process of requesting an appointment, filling out documentation online, and setting up an appointment time was super smooth. They are available to call, and also available to text to set up appointments (which is super convenient). Upon arriving, the check in process was easy and the team members were so polite. But wow, the office is absolutely beautiful. Everything looks newly done and very luxury, I love it! I was scheduled to do a routine cleaning and was helped by Dr Vivian Huynh. She did wonderful job, and I really liked her transparency when talking about my treatment. She discovered cavities during my cleaning, and was able to fill 3 cavities in the same day. I am very appreciative of her kindness!

What Our Patients Say

If you’re looking for a new dentist and you’ve stumbled on here, this is probably the right place for you! The office is immaculate. From the outside it looks like a typical building, but when you enter the doors… it’s a new world in there. This is my first time entering a dental office that’s so modern and aesthetically designed. I was welcomed in by the amazing staff and Dr. Vivian is the most patient and connected dentist I’ve met- thank you for being so thorough, Dr. Vivian! I’ve always had a fear of the dentist and she made the experience comfortable. I highly recommend this office to anyone reading this, already told my friends and family!

What Our Patients Say

The office is easy to locate, with plenty of parking right out front. Upon arrival, the front desk staff greeted me right away, and check-in was quick and seamless. I tend to get anxious at the dentist due to past experiences at other offices, but the team made me feel at ease. I was even given headphones to watch a movie of my choice, which really helped distract me and relax during the procedure. It was a great touch, as I could lay back and enjoy the movie projected on the ceiling. Dr. Vivian Huynh performed two cavity fillings on me, and I couldn’t believe how gentle she was – I actually started to doze off during the procedure! I didn’t feel any pain. Dr. Huynh was always checking in to make sure I was comfortable. She also showed me before-and-after pictures of my fillings, which gave me a much clearer understanding of my dental health and the work she did. The level of care I received at this office was a complete contrast to my previous experiences, and I’m genuinely happy with how everything went. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent dental care!
