Insurance & Payment

Fair, Fixed Rate

At Excel Dental, we are primarily an out-of-network or “fee-for-service” dental-care provider. This allows us to charge a fair, fixed rate for procedures rather than having to apply extra fees required by third-party insurance companies.

Whatever your situation and budget, we are dedicated to providing you with straightforward estimates and helping you navigate any financial obstacles you may be facing.

We accept most dental insurance

However, we also accept most dental (PPO) insurance. If you have any concerns, you are always welcome into our dental office, and we can check your benefits for you!

Common Questions

What should I expect during my first visit?

First visits usually consist of building your personalized patient account. We want to learn about you, your needs, your expectations, and your dental goals. Low radiation digital imaging x-rays, 3D scans (Itero), and intra-oral photos are often performed to allow us to help create a customized treatment plan that best fits your dental needs.

For first-time patients, it is best to arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out patient forms. You can also print out the form HERE and bring the completed form to your appointment. We can’t wait to see you

Do you see children at your dental office?

Yes! We are a family-focused dental office. We recommend that children as early as 6 months visit our office so we can take a look at your child’s teeth and work on providing them a positive experience. These 30-minute appointments will help desensitize them to the dental office and introduce them to the importance of dental care at an early age.

Do you offer emergency appointments?
Whether you are a current patient of ours or you have never been to our office before, you can make same-day appointments to get reliable, high-quality emergency dental care. We understand that unexpected things may happen in life, and sometimes they are stressful and intimidating. We will be here for you to help with your dental needs.
Can you help with dental anxiety?
Absolutely! We are here to help improve your dental care. We know that going to the dentist may be intimidating, and we want to make sure that you take on this journey together with us. Our staff members are understanding, compassionate, and thoughtful. We are dedicated to prioritizing YOUR dental experience. We also offer soothing amenities including essential oils, blankets, neck pillows and more to provide a relaxing and comfortable environment.
How long does a tooth filling last?

Tooth fillings are a common dental procedure designed to restore the integrity and function of a tooth that has been compromised by decay or damage. The longevity of a tooth filling can vary significantly depending on several factors, including the type of material used, the location of the filling, and how well you maintain your oral hygiene. Typically, fillings can last anywhere from 5 to 15 years.

Amalgam fillings, which are made from a mixture of metals, are known for their durability and can often last 10 to 15 years. Composite fillings, which are designed to match the color of your teeth, generally last about 5 to 7 years. However, advancements in dental materials are constantly improving the lifespan of these fillings. Regular dental check-ups at Excel Dental in Escondido, CA, can help monitor the condition of your fillings and ensure they are replaced when necessary to maintain your dental health.

Is a dental filling painful?

The thought of getting a dental filling can be daunting, especially if you’re concerned about pain or discomfort. However, modern dentistry has made significant strides in minimizing pain and enhancing patient comfort during procedures. Most dental fillings are performed under local anesthesia, which numbs the area around the affected tooth, ensuring that you feel little to no pain during the procedure.

You might experience minor discomfort or sensitivity after the anesthesia wears off, but this typically subsides within a few days. At Excel Dental, Dr. Vivian Huynh and Dr. Brian Luong prioritize patient comfort and employ the latest techniques to make the experience as stress-free as possible. If you have any concerns or anxiety about dental procedures, don’t hesitate to discuss them with your dentist, who can offer solutions to help you feel at ease.

How long does a crown last on a tooth?

Dental crowns are an excellent solution for restoring the strength and appearance of a damaged tooth. They are designed to encase the entire visible portion of a tooth, providing protection and improving its aesthetic appeal. On average, a dental crown can last between 10 to 15 years, but with proper care, some crowns can last even longer.

The longevity of a crown depends on several factors, including the material used (such as porcelain, metal, or a combination), your oral hygiene habits, and lifestyle factors like diet and teeth grinding. Regular dental visits to Excel Dental in Escondido, CA, are crucial for monitoring the condition of your crown and addressing any issues promptly. Practicing good oral hygiene, such as brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and avoiding habits that can damage your crown, will help extend its lifespan.

How long will a dental bridge last?

Dental bridges are a popular option for replacing missing teeth, helping to restore your smile and maintain the proper alignment of your bite. Like other dental restorations, the longevity of a dental bridge depends on various factors, including the materials used, the location in your mouth, and how well you care for your dental health.

On average, a dental bridge can last between 5 to 15 years. Bridges made from high-quality materials and those that receive proper care tend to last longer. Good oral hygiene practices, such as regular brushing, flossing, and visiting your dentist at Excel Dental for routine check-ups, are essential for maintaining the health of your bridge and the surrounding teeth. Additionally, avoiding habits like chewing on hard objects and using your teeth as tools can prevent unnecessary wear and tear on your dental bridge.

Incorporating these practices into your daily routine can significantly enhance the longevity of your dental restorations, ensuring that your smile remains healthy and vibrant for years to come. At Excel Dental in Escondido, CA, Dr. Vivian Huynh and Dr. Brian Luong are committed to providing exceptional care and guidance to help you achieve optimal dental health.

The best dental experience ever!!!

What Our Patients Say

I had a fantastic experience at Excel Dental, where I received a custom mouth guard and Vivera retainers. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the brand-new, beautifully designed facility--it's modern, stylish, and thoughtfully laid out to make patients feel at ease. The level of care and attention to detail throughout my visit was exceptional. The team was welcoming and highly professional. One of the standout features of the office was the flat-screen TVs mounted on the ceilings above each patient chair making appointments more enjoyable. After my appointment, I was guided to a "goodies room" stocked with a variety of CocoFloss flavors and other litto gifts--an unexpected and delightful touch that made the visit even more memorable. The entire space exudes a bright and cheerful energy, and it's clear that patient comfort is a top priority. I left feeling confident that my dental care was in excellent hands. If you're looking for a practice that combines top-tier dental expertise with a welcoming and thoughtfully designed environment, I highly recommend Excel Dental.

What Our Patients Say

I am a new patient and the entire process of requesting an appointment, filling out documentation online, and setting up an appointment time was super smooth. They are available to call, and also available to text to set up appointments (which is super convenient). Upon arriving, the check in process was easy and the team members were so polite. But wow, the office is absolutely beautiful. Everything looks newly done and very luxury, I love it! I was scheduled to do a routine cleaning and was helped by Dr Vivian Huynh. She did wonderful job, and I really liked her transparency when talking about my treatment. She discovered cavities during my cleaning, and was able to fill 3 cavities in the same day. I am very appreciative of her kindness!

What Our Patients Say

If you’re looking for a new dentist and you’ve stumbled on here, this is probably the right place for you! The office is immaculate. From the outside it looks like a typical building, but when you enter the doors… it’s a new world in there. This is my first time entering a dental office that’s so modern and aesthetically designed. I was welcomed in by the amazing staff and Dr. Vivian is the most patient and connected dentist I’ve met- thank you for being so thorough, Dr. Vivian! I’ve always had a fear of the dentist and she made the experience comfortable. I highly recommend this office to anyone reading this, already told my friends and family!

What Our Patients Say

The office is easy to locate, with plenty of parking right out front. Upon arrival, the front desk staff greeted me right away, and check-in was quick and seamless. I tend to get anxious at the dentist due to past experiences at other offices, but the team made me feel at ease. I was even given headphones to watch a movie of my choice, which really helped distract me and relax during the procedure. It was a great touch, as I could lay back and enjoy the movie projected on the ceiling. Dr. Vivian Huynh performed two cavity fillings on me, and I couldn’t believe how gentle she was – I actually started to doze off during the procedure! I didn’t feel any pain. Dr. Huynh was always checking in to make sure I was comfortable. She also showed me before-and-after pictures of my fillings, which gave me a much clearer understanding of my dental health and the work she did. The level of care I received at this office was a complete contrast to my previous experiences, and I’m genuinely happy with how everything went. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent dental care!
